Musculoskeletal physiotherapy

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is focused on your biomechanical and structural rehabilitation. You and your therapist will agree on targeted goals to maximise your functional movement so you can return to normal daily activities.

+ Your initial assessment will focus on developing a thorough understanding of the cause of your pain and the outcome you desire. Once that has been established, all treatment is personalised and can include:

  • Exercises
  • Soft Tissue mobilisation
  • Joint Tissue mobilisation
  • Passive and active stretches
  • Ultrasound
  • Acupuncture
  • Tailored advice and education relating to personal exercises and rehabilitation

Acupuncture

Acupuncture at Hope Physiotherapy Clinic is carried out by our senior Physiotherapists.

+ (Acupuncture is effective for any conditions requiring the management of pain and inflammation or any situation where the body needs help with healing, for example, a ligament sprain or a torn muscle. The stimulation of the body’s own healing chemicals is an aid to recovery and enhances rehabilitation).

Home visits:

Home physiotherapy visits provide you with the convenience of us coming to you and can be particularly useful for those with difficulty walking or for people that struggle with transport.

+The therapist will bring all the rehabilitation and diagnostic equipment that is required to ensure you receive the same quality service as if you were to visit it one of our clinics. Common conditions for which our older people physiotherapy team would suggest a home visit include:

  • Deconditioning after a hospital admission
  • Early post-operative rehabilitation
  • Falls prevention
  • Poor or declining mobility
  • Anyone who finds it difficult leaving the house

Care Home Physiotherapy

Our specialist care home physiotherapists can attend any nursing or residential home within the Kent. They will work with care staff to ensure you receive the very best advice regarding mobility.

+Our older people physiotherapy services within nursing and residential homes can include:

  • Group exercise classes
  • New resident assessments
  • Resident mobility care planning
  • Falls risk assessment
  • Mobility and walking aid assessment
  • 1:1 treatment / exercise sessions
  • On or off-site Occupational Health Physiotherapy services for employee wellbeing and sickness absence

Remote Triage and Advice Services

Our remote triage and advice service offers your workforce rapid access to advice in order to manage musculoskeletal disorders as early as possible, reducing costs to the business associated with absence, reduced productivity and inappropriate use of occupational health services.

+ A typical triage call will involve a basic assessment of the employee’s condition and associated limitations, as well as screening for any ‘red flags’ that may need urgent medical attention. The Specialist Occupational Physiotherapist can then provide appropriate and relevant self-management advice, and determine the need for onward referral to ourselves or onward referral to the NHS physiotherapy systems.

Women's Health

our specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist, can help you with disorders affecting the pelvis and pelvic floor.

  • Antenatal and Post Natal Care

  • Pelvic floor weakness and Pelvic pain
